Lore β€” Narrative Chronology

Narrative chronology

This timeline follows Destiny's story in in-universe chronological order, not release order. Lore books, missions, and dialogue appear where their events happen in the timeline, even if they released years later.

I. Pre-Universe β€” Cosmology

Before stars, time, and mortality, two primordial forces played a game of possibility and inevitability. The struggle between the Gardener and Winnower gave rise to the rules that would shape all existence, the birth of reality itself, and the endless conflict over what form life should ultimately take.

II. The Witness's Species & Their Fall

III. Rhulk & the Lubraeans

Notes on chronology

Some lore books span multiple eras or timelines. In those cases, entries are grouped where their core events or character arcs primarily belong.

Weapon and armor lore tabs are generally placed alongside the era connected to their source content.

For readers who want a continuous longform retelling, the archive also includes a separate prose narrative that reconstructs Destiny's story from the Gardener and Winnower through The Final Shape.

This archive is continually updated as new lore, dialogue, and timeline connections emerge.
