Zavala: The Taken have occupied an old water facility near your location. Not to be outdone, the Fallen are attempting to seize it from them by force.

Devrim Kay: The Fallen are an afterthought. Whatever the Taken are doing here, they are contaminating the water supply. You don't want to see the pot of tea I made this morning.

Zavala: Civilians are depending on you. Operation Stormcoat has begun.

Zavala: Mobilizing fireteam for Operation, uh... Babydog? Why does this say Babydog? I must have forgotten to reboot the strike name generator.

Devrim: Operation "Babydog?" Well, it has a certain ring to it, huh?

Zavala: Yes... "Babydog". Well, the strike protocol is already running. Can't stop it now. Devrim?

Devrim: Yes, sorry. Fireteam "Babydog" the Taken are polluting the EDZ. We need to determine the source of — Haha! — I'm sorry, I can't... Stand-by, fireteam.

Devrim: One of my teams reported Taken energy infecting the water supply. Our purification tech can only do so much. If the contamination spreads, people will die.

Ghost: Destroying the Blight destroyed the Taken miasma. This area's no longer infected.

Devrim: Good work. There's bound to be more than one.

Ghost: We're making good progress, but Taken energy readings are still off the charts.

Devrim: There must be a source. The Cabal hurt us, Guardian, but the Taken could ruin the EDZ forever. Put an end to this.

Ghost: This place is old; good thing we can't get tetanus.

Devrim: This facility provided water for many generations. If for nothing else but principle, I'm glad you're reclaiming it.

Ghost: They just left that unguarded...? This smells fishy to me.

Ghost: Zavala, the Taken leader is down for the count. Surprise of the day: he was Red Legion.

Zavala: Impossible... Oryx is long dead. There's no one left to take.

Ghost: Ikora was telling me about a Hive tome called the Book of Sorrows. That Oryx has sisters.

Zavala: You've both dealt with the Taken on Io. I'll consult her about this. In the meantime, excellent work. All of you.

Devrim Kay: Ah, Guardian, Ghost! Lovely to see you at my doorstep again.

Ghost: Devrim!

Devrim Kay: We have a Taken infestation I'd very much appreciate your help with.

Ghost: How bad is this "infestation"?

Devrim Kay: You'll see soon enough.

Ghost: Hmm.

The Guardians escort the payload

Ghost: That's a lot of blight.

Devrim Kay: It certainly is. We're trying something new, courtesy of our Cabal allies.

Ghost: Using Pyramid tech?

Devrim Kay: Precisely. Protect that device, and it'll clear out the blight.

Ghost: And how much has this been tested?

Devrim Kay: It's being tested right now. By you.

Ghost: Of course.

The Guardians self-destruct the device to destroy the Blight

Ghost: It's actually working!

Devrim Kay: See? Nothing to worry about.

The Guardians confront Baimogg, Unchained Wrath

Ghost: Chimera ahead.

Devrim Kay: When you kick a hornet's nest, surely one of them is bound to be a bit bigger than the rest!

Ghost: And fleshy, with tentacles?

Ghost: Devrim, have you SEEN a hornet recently?

Devrim Kay: Right. Well, out it goes.

'The Guardians self-destruct the device to destroy the Blight. They fight their way through Cabal and Taken, and defeat Gor'ath Gath'

Devrim Kay: And that's the last of them. Guardian, you have my thanks, especially for continuing to keep the EDZ safe amongst all the hubbub going on so far from home.

Ghost: Home is where the Taken are, eh?

The Shadows

(Mission begins)

• Micah-10: It's been a long time since I was in the EDZ. Standing in the shadow of the Traveler's Shard always made me feel... [takes deep breath] small. Lost.
• The Crow: I feel the same thing. We should... talk about that sometime, Micah. Right now, we need to find Dejana.
• Micah-10: [sighs] You're right — on both counts. It looks like Dejana's signal is coming from the reservoir.
• Ghost:' I'm detecting a massive spike in Taken. I think they've moved back into the dam.
• The Crow: Interesting. I lived inside the dam for a while after I was risen, to get away from Spider and the Shore. That's when the Traveler started sending me visions in my dreams. Ones that led me to rebuild Hawkmoon — to find the Radiant Accipiter.
• Micah-10: I read about that. It's a jumpship, right?
• The Crow: Yeah. It was a rusted old clunker sitting in a hidden hangar. But then the Traveler... acted. It changed the ship, redesigned it. Rebuilt it.
• Micah-10: For you?
• The Crow: Well... no. I let the Guardian use it when they need to.
• Micah-10: It sounds like a metaphor. Just like rebuilding Hawkmoon was. That you had a new purpose... and it would take you far away from here.
• The Crow: I guess that explains why the ship doesn't have any conventional controls.
• Micah-10: Sometimes, you have to just strap yourself in and hope for the best.
• The Crow: Sometimes.

'The Guardian clears the Taken corruption on their way into the dam and battles through Taken and Shadow Legion. After scanning a calcified statue of segmented hands, they defeat Gor'ath Gath.*

• **Ghost:*' Taken presence is receding, but I'm picking up a number of spatial anomalies. The final shape is... distorting things here. Just like it was elsewhere.
• The Crow: It's reached Earth?
• Ghost: I found Dejana's trail. I think she's headed into the Dark Forest, in the shadow of the Shard of the Traveler.
• Micah-10: Then we follow her. We don't have any time to waste.

Defeat Gor'ath Gath and drive the Taken from the Reservoir once and for all.
